I'm trying to create a furniture product that is modular and fully parametric.

Hi Guys, I'll fess up straight away and say I'm a native AutoCAD, but I'm trying to get something to work in REVIT (I'm a beginner, but I know the basics). I have a furniture system that I need to be modular and parametric at the same time. You'll see in my AutoCAD image what I want to achieve.
I'm trying to get this framework to be parametric in height, width and depth for each cube, and then allow those cubes to be stacked and in rows to the required amount.
Attached is an AutoCAD screen shot showing the kind of results I need. I've also added screen shots to show how far I've got with the REVIT family.
I've set up parameters for this single cube, but I'm stuck on how to get the cube to populate up and wide. I obviously can't have the legs as part of the population up, just to the side.
I'm not sure an array would work, because of the parametrics within that array.
I'd also like to keep it to one family and not nested. But if that's not possible then I'll have to go nested. Does a nested family import correctly into a 3rd party REVIT project? When I tried to nest it, it seemed to lose its parameter constraints.
Thanks to anyone that can help!!!
