I've attached my simplified example file. If you select the void component and try to cut the infill pieces of the wall, it should give you a circular chain of reference error. Is there a way to avoid this?

I'm using a void component to cut away the brick layer of the existing wall to take it back to the plywood sheathing.

You have an window embedded , delete it not cut it.

You mean to delete the existing windows?

No, to delete the one you can not cut by void component. As you have an embedded window in the same place, the 1st void cut off the widow and wall back-fill... so when you try cut 2nd time, it gives your error message. I would just delete the wall infill for a simple clear up to get what you want.

I understand that your project have existing elements and new elements. But, are you using phases? I don't see in the project browser views dedicated to phases, such as existing, demolition, and new. Also, you're trying to demolish a layer of a wall, the brick. To do that, it's better to use Parts instead of using a void.
