How To Turn Off AutoDesk Analytics Client Services

My Computer’s CPU is getting extremely high everyday when I am using Revit or any Autodesk Product. I found in the task manager that one of the issues is the ADPClientService. I have been ending that task every time I see it.

Is there a way to unload that? Forever?

Thank you

This is not related to a specific Autodesk product.

Brand new PC, clean installation of Windows 10 (to avoid brand junk software), installation of Navisworks Freedom.

Reboot and you get this adpclientservice.exe running all the time between 10-20% of a 12th Gen Core i7 !!!

Solution:

The process install itself in %appdata%\Autodesk\ so if you're using your computer with user's right (not admin).

Just find the .exe and change permissions to "not inherited" and remove your user from the permissions list.

Done !! Process is there so Autodesk is happy with his crap, we are happy because it's unable to start.

It is indeed ridiculous that adpclientservice.exe has to use so much cpu. Basically, Autodesk puts malware into their software.

I still don't have a solution from Autodesk itself on this topic:https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-problems/m-p/11461574#M159514

To add additional information, going to Help/Desktop Analytics now takes you to a web page where one check box is greyed out and you can't turn it off. Works the same for me in C3D and Revit.

I found this thread because I get these Insights emails about how to improve my workflows and I know Autodesk is tracking what I do. Trying to figure out how to stop that.

Thank you, this works. The uncheck box solutions mentioned by others did not solve my problem. This did. I still do not understand why Autodesk is making crappy software. This is not freeware, we pay a lot of money to use the program. So fix it!
