How to store all the projects variations during the costruction?

Hi there! 

I have to build from a project. 

As you know, during costruccion will have a lot of variations (for clash detections or for many others problems ..)

How can I store all this variations? 

I need to have an Historical of all by date, descriptions, etc etc.. The y key is to use the Phases tool?

Huh?  Maybe "Save" the file?

Could be a good solution, but actually I need to modify the model and store them (the variation) on the model (the old solution and the new one together), to know the history of the construccion
