How to show 3D model as dashed if hidden behind someting

I was wondering if anyone knows how to show a 3D model as dashed lines if it's hidden behind something in an orthographic view. Does it have anything to do with using symbollic lines?

I don't think you can.  You however, can turn up the transparency of the front object to 20-30% to reveal the objects behind it.

  1. if, from Properties >Graphics > Show Hidden Lines - turn to All - you will be able to see the elements behind the front objjects in hidden lines
  2. or you can do it mabually by using Linework

It actually gets even better and easier than this for individual objects... (in lieu of linework tool)
