How to set imported image transparent

Anonymous

I  inserted a raster image of  a floor plan as reference, but when I brought it as foreground, it completely  hid the plan I was working on, if I left it as background, the plan I was working on covered the reference image. So how to set the image or the plan I was working on transparent so I could refer the image?  Thanks!

Turn off the floor that is covering the raster image.

...or use Wireframe

I need the floor and image together, so can't turn off the floor plan.  Do you mean I can set the floor plan as wireframe so I can see through it? How to set it as wireframe? Thanks!

visual style: wireframe is grayed out with floor plan.  I guess it only works with 3D.

My situation is I am trying to work on a floor plan with another floor plan as reference, and the reference is in a format of raster image. I need both of them on.

A Floor Plan can be set to Wireframe. It's probably grayed out because you have a View Template assigned to the view.

I didn't mean turn off the Floor Plan. What I suggested was to turn off your Floor Category in the view.

I use Temporary Hide/Isolate function to hide the floor or/and other entities while working with backgrounds.

You can use also , as Barth suggested here Wireframe visual style...

you can ,also use a Override by Element > Surface Transparency applied to floor. Take care to rest this option, once your job is ready..

Hi

Create a working view ( duplicate )

import the image ( I prefer to import in CAD, and link CAD in  Revit , so that scale can be managed easily )

and then put every 3d category in transparency to use that image as a backgroun..
