How to "re-use" a mass form and divided surface im a family after nested in host project

Hello, 

I made a mass with divided surface in a family, and add pattern tiles there, then load/nest into the host project.

Then, I will also use this nested nass and surface for other elements (josts, roof sheet etc by extrusion etc), 

Any way to pick the nested mass and surface for use in project as if it is in the child family? (repeat. pattern etc)'
