How to print to scale?

I can't figure out how to print to scale. None of the pages autodesk has provided have worked/helped.

- Create Sheets with the size of the paper you want to print

- Drop views on Sheet.  Views should be of proper scales and fit inside the sheet border.

- Print Sheets @ 100% scale

Hello @Anonymous

I understand this thread is quite old but I wanted to ask if certain posts have helped you with your problem.

In the Print Setup dialog box, if you set the zoom to 100% of the papersize,   the print should come out at full 100%.   I have seen some instances where some pdf printers or physical printers with certain print drivers have built in margins which do not allow full print to the edge of the page.

This can result in a print, (say 1/4"=1' plan view placed on a sheet) and then printed at 100%, not scaling correctly.

The hardcopy will not measure correctly when you put a scale to paper, and hence does not equal 100%. of the paper size.

If this does not help,   please share details.

I just tried printing a set of plans on an Arch E size to an HP DesignJet Z6 Postscript Printer using a roll of paper. I created an Arch E size sheet in Revit, placed my three floor plans on the paper as 1/8"=1' scale, saved it as an Arch E size PDF at 100%, and transfered the PDF file via USB drive directly into the printer, selected Arch E size paper in the printer, and 100% scale. However, when after printing it out, I put my 1/8" scale on the drawing and the wall that is 15' long measures as over 17'.

First thing to verify is that the print settings in Revit are correct. Post a screenshot of your settings.

Why aren't you printing directly to the plotter? That would eliminate a couple steps and make this easier.

If you can't print directly to the plotter, post a screenshot of your PDF print settings.

If indeed all those are correct, your plotter may need calibrating.
