How to present a line which created on plan - as a vertical line on elevation?

If i've created a line - let's say a parcel limit line - on a plan.
I have to Express this line on a elevation/section as a vertical line.

How can i do it (NOT manually. i'm sure revit has some "reference" option to do that)

this is the parcel line on plan:

i want it to show like that on elevation:

No, you can't do it in revit except manually.

Also, what if you move your section to-and-fro, this parcel limit line will be moving to the left and to the right...

I had thought about creating a family to show this border line, but it will be more difficult than just to draw a line...

Hello, dear, hope this idea will help you.

You should create a family with just a simple box with 3 parameters (width, length and height). You can modify this family as you want further.

In the plan and the section you see this:

Than just override graphics by means of "override graphics" window or by using "line"-tool.

Also, such a family may also help you.

"Shift" parameter moves the vertical line right to the front of your section.

The idea that was given to you in the previous message is for Revit. It's suggesting you to make a 3d element (a family) and put it on top of your linked CAD file in Revit.

If you are not familiar with making Revit families, then do an In-Place mass. I recommend looking into the Help documents to know about the steps. That will be easier than making the family, and more flexible, easier to stretch in all directions.

Thanks for your answer.

i tried doing that, with a cube without colours but then on elevation it can't be tranparent. (red arrow) for some how on section it can be transparent (blue arrow)

of course i HAVE to have this cube transparent, i want to display only the line overrides...

BTW i tried to place detail lines instead of line overrides and then erase the cube. but revit wont let me pick the section lines!

to danezeq - you can create grid  for that line you wish to show on elevation/section

1. duplicate your existing grid and rename it to whatever you want to call it.
2. rather that disabling the bubbles, on symbol, select none, so the bubbles will not show up to any elevation and or section

3. assign it to the grid for that particular line you want to show on elevation

the problem i see here is when it assigned to a slanted line on which it will not shown up on elevation.

in case of section...just create line to where the section line and your boundary line meet and assign the newly created gid

Select the 3d box, then do:

Right click > Override graphics in view > By element > (change settings for Projection lines > pattern and Surface transparency).

Hello, dear,

yes, I guess, you can!

Try to use linework-tool (I have called this tool just a "line-tool" earlier), here is the description of this tool.

Image 900.pnga

To make this model in-place dashdotted (for a plan), use override graphics for the element (right-click on it).

In the section you see this:

Image 901.png

Then use linework-tool to make some lines invisible (use <invisible> line), another — dashdotted.

Image 902.png

Further, you can place this model in-place in a separate workset. Then untick "visible in all views" option. This make the model in-place invisible in all views (so, you have no need to hide this element in all project views). Just switch this workset on in a couple of views you need to see this model in-place.
