How to place dimension from Grid intersection point of link files

Hello,

We have created a Grid file and linked the same into another file. Now we have to place aligned dimension between Grid intersection and Wall or any component in the project file. We can place it when the grid and the component are same file instead linked. Attached the snap for your easy reference.

Please suggest.

try to use tab to get the right selection 
use snap override to force revit to search for the intersection point

adjust grid in view setting to be shown as by linked view
if not working try to use detail family , put in the intersection and dim to it

Can you please elaborate the first line or share the option snap so that we can do the same in our end.

If we do it by placing any detail family then it will be time taking and tedious task.

ah , i get what your problem

u r right , you showing good idea
if elements alignment to linked grids it works but if not aligned it will not snap to intersection

in my work we use grid as active elements and it works fine
as an temporary till autodesk implement your idea solution copy/monitor grids to be active in your file so you can dim to it or generate detail item or generic model family line based with annotation in it to use as custom dim line

its not a very good solution but it may help till getting new option
