there is a sweep bounded to the diagonal reference plane, the angle is fixed, but i need to be able to move that diagonal sweep up and down with a parameter (relative to the baseline)

(this is a curtain wall family)

Thanks

Group it with a horizontal ref plane and add a parameter to move the horizontal plane up or down.

....or if the angle also needs to be able to change use a Reference Line and constrain the endpoint offset from the base.

You know how they say "3rd time's a charm"?

Ain't true. I read this 4 times and I still don't get it.  Can you post the file?

P.S. Do you mean this is a Curtain Wall PANEL Family?  If so, maybe nesting and hosting the whatchamacallit to the diagonal Ref. Plane  in the Host Family would make it easier to accomplish whatever .

Group both reference line works fine. However, the angle of the diagonal plane cannot be alternated due to grouped. Is there a method that can both constraint the distance and allow adjustable angles?

If you use a reference line instead of a plane, you can do it:

You have to lock the lower-left end of the ref-line to both ref-planes and the upper right end of the ref-line to the vertical ref-plane
