How to move cursor othographically?

How can I set the cursor so that it move orthographically?

I'm used to AutoCAD's looking so neat with all of the arrows from notes looking nice and parallel.

In Revit, the lines are always at some angle other than 0 or 90 degrees.

Any help out there?

Thanks -KLYPH

When I draw the arrow for a note, the line is level, BUT as soon as I click the end, it's no longer level.

In a series of notes, one arrow might rise to the right, the next goes slightly down, the next no one can predict.

It really looks sloppy.

I do not have this trouble with AutoCAD, but, I've only been using it since the 1980s.

The sensitivity of the mouse is probably the problem, but, how to fix it?

I understand to an extent, but I've been doing this for a long time and have no trouble with it and I am very particular about my annotations. This is one of things in Revit that might take some getting used to, especially if you've never used Object Snap Tracking or Polar Tracking in AutoCAD.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

What!?!  Maybe you need to show how your text with leaders look because I can draw them lining up and horizontal without breaking a sweat.

What you show is exactly what I want.

I pick where the arrow goes, then move my cursor horizontally, when the end of the line is exactly where I want it, with the line horizontal, I left click on the mouse, the line is still horizontal, then I enter the text, then click outside the text, and the horizontal line is not longer horizontal. What am I doing wrong? Is it the sensitivity of the mouse? Thanks for all of your many replies.

Maybe it's just me, but I find this stuff to be the type of thing that Revit has trouble creating precisely. I almost always just place it and then adjust afterwards, taking advantage of the automatic tracking.

Thanks for all of your replies.

At your many suggestions, I turned all of the SNAPS on, and now the lines are horizontal and beautiful.

Again, thanks y'all -KLYPH
