How to lock family in Revit model to avoid someone else can edit or re-use ?

As of right now there is no way to lock your families that I know of.

You can't lock a family, BUT, You can lock a family workset, so other will not be able to modify them.

Simply make the families workset editable, and don't relinquish that workset.

As attached files , they lock family and create warning for Revit

Don't send Revit files then. Export it to IFC, DWF, Navisworks, SAT...

To be honest, I don't care if someone else uses my families. Sharing is caring. Plus, one's treasure may be another's trash.

My customer doesn't want to use IFC or something like that. They just want to lock family

Revit is for sharing community and environment but some exceptions require copyright. That's point

Currently there are no lock or password options in Revit.

If you want to send a model to a client it's an all or nothing scenario: either they get an IFC/DWG which can't be edited or they get a Revit file.

Locking Worksets or Design Options only "locks" (detaching the project and resaving the project makes the worksets editable again), one can still save the families used in the project.

Not sure that the earlier post got through but the nested families in the attached dining table cannot be edited so there might be a way to lock families.

Hi, and yes the main family can be opened. However the nested families inside are somehow locked and cannot be edited.
