How to join these two seperate roofs

Having an issue joining these two roofs together. Keep receiving an error with the joint tool no matter where I click.

How do you want them to be joined? They appear to be only touching at 1 point.

I want to join them similar to this but without the dormers

You need to change the base offset of the verandah roof. It's currently the same as the main roof which means that the top of the verandah roof is higher than the base of the main roof. Cut a section through the building and move the verandah roof down to match the main roof.

I don't understand too well with the sections. Is it possible to see this in a 3d view?

Both roofs have the same Base Offset:

How do you align your roofs together to joint? I can't get the offset right.

It's easiest to do in a section view. You can just move the roof down to the height you want.
