How to impor tthe excel data file into revit.

Hi, Anyone know ho to import the excel data file into Revit to modify the element information. I have full information of excel file which has quantity formula and unique ID information. I would like to use this excel file to import to REVIT to get the customized quantification from 3D model. Such like on screen take off function with customized excel file data. Anyone know how to do this. Please help me. I am struggling with this. Please give me the any kinds of idea to solve this problem. Thank you. Best Regard Hoi-Won, KIM

Hi, you can use 3rd party add-in but you need to pay the price. Or you may check it here in previous threads. hope it help. thanks

If you want just the text from Excel, copy the cells, like a print area, open a new Drafting View (thats what we did) Select Text tool and click insertion point and paste.

You now have a TEXT block in Revit that can be fully manipulated except for formulas.

You may have to reset some of the Tabs as things seem to move.

You need to start looking at Dynamo.

 

This will let you import data from Excel and then push it to the required parameters of particular objects.  The attached image shows script I'm working on just now to populate a room list within Revit based on a standard office spreadsheet.  It will create the room and then populate various parameters such as finishes, occupancy etc.  this is just a very basic example to give you an idea.

 

If you want to pursue this avenue I would suggest heading over to Dynamobim.com  and check out the forum there - there are a number of experts who are very helpful.
