How to get an exploded view with each storey separate in Revit?

Hi! I know that Revit allows to explode elements of the model. I wonder however if it's possible to have the storeys exploded (as below in the example)?

Thanks in advance! 😉

You can create this kind of view by creating multiple 3D views (one for each level) and then using a section box to isolate the levels.

Once you have the views place them on a sheet and then manually draw the dashed lines between each floor.

This screen cast is kind of long but shows the process.

... not that I am aware of

... to get to the same result you can create couple of views and glue it togheter in a sheet

... I have been doing that

hello @dariawerynska

In the Revit with Displace Element tool you can create exploded object and for better, you can use photoshop.

If you model each floor independently from the others, e.g, split walls, columns, curtain walls by floor, then I see no reasons you can't do it.

That is the real trick. If you modeled with the intention of doing this, then things could be broken up like you want, but the reality of that happening or being do able cleanly without rework????  No sure how often that is going to happen.

If the model is done spanning levels then she could export it to IFC and tick the Split Walls, Columns, Ducts by Level box, the use the IFC with the Displacement tool to create the exploded view by level.

It is not necessary to model in a different way. Even if a curtain wall is a single element from level 1 to level 3, the user can create this kind of views by floor, by simply using a section box in a each view.

Notice in this example how Revit shows the curtain wall in each level, even though it is modeled as a single piece. The section box does its work. No need to model elements floor by floor.

That is exactly what I needed but wasn't sure which way of doing it would be the most efficient. Thank you!! 🙂
