How to get a CMU wall end looking correctly in drawings

Hi guys,

how can I get the last block in a CMU wall in plan to be 180deg rotated so it doesn't look like the block has been cut and left open?

In Autocad, I just fudge it - how do we do this in Revit?

Thanks in advance 🙂

Select the last element and push Space Tab twice

I'm confused. How is this wall modeled in the first place?

As I understood , it is a Detail Item - from Annotate >Component> Detail Component ,used over a modeled wall , perhaps with a Masking Region over it.

It could be, also a Drafting View with Detail Items..

It looks like it is actually built into the wall and not detail component overlay.

Hi guys,

Ok, thats clear now - thanks a million.

I hadn't realised that this drawing (I'm trying to upgrade my Autocad to Revit knowledge) would then use 2D Repeating Detail Components (?) to achieve the same effect - the same way as you might used dynamic blocks in Autocad.

I noticed that the Detail Components didn't move when I moved the underlying BIM object? Is that normal? Just wondering how then would I manage change between the drawing and the model ?

To get the return block in the picture above, I guess I'll fudge it with Detail Components and lines and Masking region (?)

You have to Align -Lock the Detail Item to the Model Entity
