How to get a Bathroom Sink Vanity to cut out the space around it when inserted into casework?

Hey Guys

I have downloaded a caroma semi-recessed bathroom vanity basin and i have placed it into the top of a bench top in the bathroom. The basin family is not automatically cutting out around it and the surrounding cabinetry is protruding into the basin family. I have manged to cut out the stone bench top around it by editing the extrusion. The issue currently is the casework underneath as i can see the casework protruding up through the bottom of the sink. Is there anyway to cut this out cleanly (the family) in the model?

  1. Option 1:
    • In the Vanity family Create  a void to the Vanity that doesn't cut any geometry (a yellow tansparent box)
    • In the Vanity properties panel check the box "Cut with Voids when loaded"
    • Save >> load and place on the casework
    • Use the tool Cut Geometry select Casework and then the vanity and it will be cut
    • CUT CASE.png
    •
  2. Option 2:
    • If you want the vanity to cut the casework automatically upon placement, you will need to nest the vanity into a face based generic model and create a void that cuts the host therein.
  3. Option 3:
    • Create a precut Casework 😛

Cool Option one is kind of working but it is quite hard because the size of the vanity basin is quite odd. I am trying to draw the void extrusion exactly around it but it is difficult.

Moving cause most probably it is not properly constrained to reference planes
