How to find the geographic north in a view ?

I followed the procedure described in the Help article ‘Rotate a View to True North’, thinking that the top of views then corresponded to the geographic north. It turns out I was wrong. How then does one find the geographic north of a view ?

I made the Project Base Point and Survey Point visible :

What does that mean ? It appears to be saying that north is either straight up or to the right, which would imply that the geographic north of the project has not been set correctly.

Yours True North is the same as Project North.  Below is an example when they are different.

That doesn't imply that it has not been set correctly but more like it has not been set the first place...by default it is 0.0000 degrees... (same applies for the project coordinates, it doesn't appear that they have been set) you need to set the proper value

Revit cannot find the True North. You need to set the it, based on information from a civil survey.

It appears the geographic north has not been set correctly and probably not been set at all.
