How to draw a slanted circular section roof?

Hi everyone,

I'm slightly desperate to draw a mono-pitched cone section-shaped roof. As you can hopefully see sketched out in the attached sections, there are basically an inner and an outer circle with a different gradient each, between which the roof should span.

I have tried

- drawing a simple conic roof of which I then cut the top - doesn't work due to the geometry

- creating a component (a Sweep / Sweep Blend with 2 points) - at least that connects a roof to one of the circles but I don't see how I could modify the shape to attach to the other circle's geometry correctly 

- creating an in-place mass - Revit connects the sweep to a solid shape but then won't finish the sketch since "Sketch is no longer parallel to its defining plane". Pictures see attached Trial image.

A couple of days ago I somehow got the entire building shape to sort of work as a conceptual mass (except for some angled walls; see Trial image) but I would like to only import the roof as a face if anything and then use Model by Face in the project file.  

I would be incredibly thankful for any help!!!

It should be possible using a mass.  In the attached images, I drew a circle on the reference level and then created a plane above that for the top opening.  I drew a circle on that and then rotated the reference plane.  I then created a form from the two circles and in a project, applied a roof by face.

I'll do it by starting with an Extrusion, then Scale the upper Profile (the profiles have to be unlocked) and then Rotate in an Elevation View...as shown in my screencast:

and once loaded into project, use Roof by Face...

Hi, 

thanks for your suggestion! I tried this in my project but the problem is that by rotating the reference plane with the circle on, it doesn't reach the other end of the walls. I attached another image for your reference. 

I'm trying out the other suggested solution to the post now but if you have another idea, please let me know.

I'm not sure I understand.  The reference plane doesn't need to reach the wall.  It just controls the height and angle of the top opening.
