How to customize mouse settings?

I know I am going to look like a total noob (which i totally am) but I would love to customize my mouse settings. I would like to change my right click button to function as "Enter" similar to the AutoCad feature. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have done research of my own and have found nothing. Thanks in advance.

"Enter" for what purposes? Revit commands don't need "Enter" to register.

Install the mousedrivers.

If you have a logitech mouse (for example) it's software lets you "customize" the buttons.

Or even better, the 3Dconnexion CAD mouse drivers.

Can I use any gaming mouse or is Logitech brand necessary?

What brand is your gaming mouse ?

Dont have one, the one i have in office is a 3 button mouse (basic). That was my reason for asking about the brand, so i can order one online.

I use X-Mouse Button Control. It lets you remap any mouse button on a per-program basis.

I for example use x mouse to remap the forward and backward buttons on the side of my MX master mouse to undo and redo in revit, and forward and backward in chrome / windows photo viewer.

Logitech drivers only work with logitech mice but even a 3 button basic mouse is of some brand.

You should install their drivers.

You are talking about "at work" so I assume you are spending a lot of your time sitting behind a computer.

I strongly advise to ask your boss for a good mouse.

If that is too difficult buy one yourself!

Keep in mind that most of the time your hand is resting on that mouse.

It should be a good rest!

You really don't want RSI or carpal tunnel!

Don't you think it is worth to spend 50 or 100 bucks on yourself?

I have to admit though that at all the firms I worked for there is almost nobody who is willing to pay for a good mouse!

Speaking for myself I could say that I am a mouse fetishist!

I really am afraid to end up with RSI or carpal tunnel.

For the moment I am using 2 Spacemouse Enterprise (one at work and one at home) and one CADmouse (both from 3Dconnexion), one logitech G502, one G602 and an old microsoft sidewinder X5. 

These are only the mice I use a lot!

Its not that its hard to spend 50-100 dollars on a mouse, it is just that up to a few months ago i was working only with AutoCAD and this basic mouse was enough for office use. At home i do have a good gaming mouse that i use, but since we made the switch to Revit its been a bit hard to adjust and mouse functionality has been quite tiresome. I will look into the the and logitech for the office and save the Spacemouse for home.

This is (in my not so humble opinion) the best I ever used !

I had 4 of them

Had to abandon them because it was PS2 and the cursor started to behave strange on windows XP

It also had no scroll wheel.
