Say for example i load a light family into my project and place it into the ceiling so that i can see it in the 3d model. How do i assign a note or tag parameter or symbol to it so that i can add text and symbols to it that are visible in plan view.
Correct me if im wrong but does this involve going into the family and adding parameters? I have never done anything like this before if it is. Is there a good tutorial video or YT video for this kind of stuff? Im guessing this will involve some work to get my head around it.
Generic Annotation -- Label Annotation.
Here, check out the attached model family (the OOTB "Outet-GFI.rfa") and see how it's done with nested Families.
i cant open it because i have Revit 2018, it is a 2020 family?
Is it possible you can save it as that ?
Just go to your Library and get it. You should have it too. It's called "Outlet-GFI.rfa". Find it at:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2018\Libraries\US Imperial\Electrical\Architectural\Electrical Power\Terminals
...2018 attached.
Out of curiosity, do you ever give solution credits? That is, mark accepted solutions on your threads?
i may have done a few times,
If its important i can do so, sorry bit of a newb
Yeah, I like getting 'em. Probably most like getting 'em. Thanks for asking.
This is a super hard thing to figure out how to do.
Anyone have a dummies guide on how to assign annotation to a family this way?
thanks
