How to align render appearance on the opposite sides of a geometry

Hi Guys,

I'm modelling a perforated metal panel as a model in place for my facade.

However, the problems occur when I apply the perforated pattern I made. I can adjust the location of the pattern to where I want on the external side, but when the material wraps around to the internal side, it ends up in a weird location. Causing misalignment of the pattern between the interior and exterior.

I have tried to use paint material tool for both sides respectively, however, it turns out to be the same result.

Does anyone have this experience before?

Thanks a lot

Ye

Further to my above thread, this is my current setting of that material.

Interesting. I like it.  Can you post the file here? Might also need to have your image.  Maybe we can figure it out.

I would create two materials. One uses the original image, the other uses the mirrored image. Then assign one material to the exterior face and the other the interior face.  You could also use 2 Decals, similar mirroring approach.  I think using Decals would be easier and more appropriate for this application.

Hi Barthbradley,

Here's the file and image.

Btw, I'm using a walk around method as suggested by ToanDN above.

But still it would be good know the revit way of handling this properly.

Cheers

Thanks ToanDN,

It seems it's the only way to do it so far.

Thanks a lot for help.

Cheers
