How to add labels to components to be visible on print

Can anyone tell me how to add labels to components so when printed it can be seen

Are you trying to add labels to the component family? What exactly are you trying to achieve?

Since I don';t know what exactly it is that you are trying to do, one of the two should work - 

In the family - 

1) Create a label

2) Nest a generic annotation family

3) Sometimes the simplest approach is the most effective - just create a piece of 'dumb' text

I see that you are a new visitor! Welcome to the Autodesk community! 

As @Sahay_R mentioned you can try nesting generic annotation families inside host model families so that the annotations appear in the model.

This is useful if you want to include a label with a model family and display that label in the project, which I assume is what you are seeking.

• Generic annotations hosted by the model families scale with the view when they are loaded into the project. When you place these generic annotations on a sheet, they display at the same size, regardless of view scale.
• For example, a 3/32'' text label in a model family always prints at that size on a sheet, even if that label appears on the sheet in a view with a 1/8" = 1'0" scale or a view with a 1/4'' = 1'0'' scale.
• You can also control the visibility of generic annotations in the project separately from the host model family. See Managing Family Visibility and Detail Level.
