I need to be able to add a fire rating to a floor assembly and tag it.  I am having no luck adding a "Fire Ratng" type parameter under the identity data for floor assemblies.  This is for a life safety Plan.

Go to [Manage Tab > Project Parameters > Add...] from here you can create a new parameter or use a shared parameter and assign it to whatever category you need as a type parameter.

I have tried this several times and still no luck, the Floor Fire Rating parameter still won't appear in the Identity data list.  Am I missing something?

@richards65RMG

Once you have added it it is not possible to change the instance to type project parameters...What you have there is an Instance parameter it will appear on the properties palette

If you want it to show there where you showed in the images, you need to

  1. first delete the old instance parameter
  2. then recreate it as a type parameter

Project parameters can be scheduled...if you want to be tagged it needs to be Shared Parameter...Shared parameters can be added as a label in the tag family

Refer to previous reply... if you want to tag it

  1. it needs to be a Type / Shared Parameter
  2. In the Tag family, you need to add the new Floor Fire Rating parameter
