...and please, don't tell me I am using Revit incorrectly.

Autodesk, do you care how your users feel about your product?

Why does everything automatically join? I. DON'T. WANT. THE. ELEMENTS. TO. JOIN.

GIVE.

ME.

THE.

CON.

TROL.

I am so sick of clicking that unjoin button. I WANT IT TO UNJOIN.

I WANT IT TO UNJOIN.

I WANT IT TO UNJOIN.

I WANT IT TO UNJOIN.

I WANT IT TO UNJOIN.

Do you get the message? Why do you have to give me an error message?

I AM DELIBERATELY UNJOINING THE ELEMENTS.

IT IS NOT AN ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even detail lines have this 'feature'.

Rant over.

When you draw walls, change Join Status to Disallow Join.

When you draw lines or a line based detail family, untick Chain.

Thanks for the suggestion. It would be nice if we had control over floors and ceilings being joined to walls.

Also, the problem isn't so much that elements get joined. The problem is that we have to click a button in a warning message when they get unjoined. This is what I don't understand. Why is it so importand that a couple of detail lines are joined/unjoined, that the user is required to have their flow of work interrupted to click a button in a warning?

I find it totally incomprehensible.

It is not necessary or inevitable that the software works this way. It is somebody's choice.

Hey

I think there is an option to disallow join before drawing a wall...

See if that helps.

But we get your point...Its more than frustrating.

Alternatively These options are also helpful, specially in 3D View it helps fixing the joins.

I posted this in the ideas thread. The unjoin warning is absurd. Up-vote it so Autodesk will listen.
