How do I make a family become the Host Family?

I read the help links that were posted on this forum as an answer to my other post but I still can't figure it out.

I think I understand how to make the shared ones you connect to the host become a shared family though.

Adding to my own post, I see in the parameters dialogue box it has a slot for host.

However it is turned light grey and won't let me select it.  I am going to try researching the parameters dialogue box itself on the web.

You don't need to start a new thread with each question about the same subject. You know that, right?

Hello @Anonymous

What do you mean host?

Host typically signifies as system family that is used to hold a family. When you are creating a family you can choose a family templates that designates into a different host such as Wall Based / Floor Based / Ceiling Based / Face Based family and such. The created family under these templates cannot be installed unless otherwise there is a host which is Wall/Floor/Ceiling except for the face based which can also be installed in work plane or any other solid surface.

If you want to make the family that can hold another family. I think you should use the "Face Based" model. face based can be installed anywhere you want as long as there is a solid surface that can hold another families.

You do not need to do anything.

A "host" family is just describing any family that has had another family loaded into it.
