Hey all,
Please refer to the screen shot. I am currently working on a building that contains concrete precast panels that I would like to show with a thick line weight. I run into an issue when I join my furring walls to these concrete walls, the line weight seems to disappear.
I've considered modeling them as one wall, but feel this would complicate some of my other drawings/components such as tags and furring wall heights. Any advise/suggestions are appreciated!
You're experiencing one of my biggest gripes - Join Geometry. Looks great until you turn Thin Lines off!
Yup, not looking as though there is a "smart" way to achieve this. FOr the time being I just went ahead and over rode the line via the modify line tool.
Leave a very small gap between the walls then the outlines of both remain even they join together.
Or, if you don’t like the gap, just add a void extrusion in the window family, check ‘cut with voids when loaded’ and use cut tool in the project to cut the furring.
Try changing the Common Edges Cut Line Weight under walls in either Object Styles or Visibility Graphics to match your overall Walls cut lineweight.
Personally, I like to keep mine thin, as walls get lost in smaller scale plans when plotted.
