How do I get light to emit from a light fixture in Rendering?

Light is hitting the walls and casework but no light is emitting from the source.

How do I get light to emit from the source light fixture in Rendering?

Thank you for your time

@d.dillon

  1. Does the family has a light source?
  2. Is the light source obscured by a form/geometry in the family?
  3. Does the family have a void that cuts the host in the model (ie: the ceiling) so that the latter will not obscure the light source
  4. Or do you want the cover/glass to look like as if it is glowing?

many questions... easiest would be if you attach the family or model where one could check all in a coupe of minutes and let you know what you need to do

Took me a while to figure this one out 😅

What you want to do is edit that family and add a "light bulb" material to the part that will be glowing.

There is a default "light bulb" material that you can use and adjust as you please. Emissivity is what will control that. on other materials, you can find "Self Illumination" or something among those lines. It's not an exact science (to me atleast) more guess and check, tinker with random settings see how they affect it

The project was printed this morning.  The rendered views were abandoned in the CDs.

Phase filters were messing up the visibility of elements as well.

All of these answers are solutions to this problem. I wish I could select them all.

I need to learn more about Revit rendering.

Thank you for your time
