How do i change the visual lines of a Structural Beam

Hey Guys,

i am using DHS Beams and when i show them in elevations view they have lots of lines showing. Example is the images on the left. I don't want it to look that way. i want to only show the primary faces like the images i drew on the rights.

what it looks like.png

i understand that the show all those lines because the shape has multiple faces. is there a way to override how the lines appear? i still want to beam to shape shown when it is cut by a section.

Best way to achieve this is to have two profiles - one is simplify and the other is detail.

When you set your profile to medium detail, it will display what you wanted.

See attached sample so you can learn how to reverse engineer it for your need.

I would add symbolic lines to the round edges so it looks like rectangle profile. Screenshot below illustrate how symbolic line mix with 3d element will help convey what you want to display.

I think these families already exist in the libraries, in their simplified form.

Family may have Subcategories that can be turned off in the View. Check it out.
