How can I resolves these roof issues?

I am trying to extend the dormer all the way to the edge of the main gable by drawing lines and defining slop lines.

Using this method, I'm only able to add in the dormer if I start the dormer line a bit off, in this case

6", from the face of the gable.  I know I am need something to define the side of the gable, so is there

any way I can do this without setting the dormer start line off of the face of the gable a bit?

Also, in another part of my roof, i need to extend an eaves down to meet another eave

Is there a tool for this or should I create a bump out in the plan view to extend the slope.

Say that dormer extended all the way to either edge, could  you still get it to work?

Its pretty common for a roof to need to overhang differently in order to meet eaves at different heights.

what is the best way to do this in Revit?

The way I have done it below is to model the roof overhang separately.  Though this method will not allow me to join

the separate pieces? Not sure why.

Is the a function where I can set one side to over hang more than the opposite side while

still centering the ridge?  Should I split the 2 roofs in half? I'd prefer not to do that as I'd like to keep

the roof as one unit.

I think you may be asking how to adjust the Offset from Roof Base, a Property of the Roof Boundary Sketch Line.  Changing this value will change the height of that eave relative to the Roof Base Level.
