I'm trying to do a couple things with wall sweeps:
1) Turn off in floor plan view. I am seeing a category for wall sweeps to turn off for my cornice, but
not for my wall base? Where might this show up?
2) I know a sweep can be extended, but can you delete a sweep all together from a wall when in model views? (not by edit type)

1. By wall base do you mean the foundations? If so, they have there own category (Structural Foundations).
2. It depends - are the sweeps defined in the wall make up then you can't - you will have to edit the wall. If they were added manually to the wall then they can be deleted.
Did @Anonymous 's response answer your question? Or are you referring to something else? If by "wall base" you mean the base moulding of a wall, such as a rubber base where a floor meets the bottom of a wall, I advise you create a Subcategory for that wall base. This would be a subcategory of the Walls category. See the image below. This would allow you to control the visibility via the Visibility/Graphics menu.
Can you explain your second question further? Is the sweep to which you are referring integral to the wall (meaning did you create the sweep within the wall's type properties--see the image below), or is it an independent Wall Sweep element which you created using the Wall Sweep command on the Architecture tab, Wall > Wall Sweep button (see the final image)?
Thank you, I will try the assign category method.
The sweep is integral to the wall. Possible to delete from individual instances?
Thanks for the additional information. Wall sweeps which are integral to a wall cannot be deleted on a per-instance basis, as the person stated above. You can duplicate the wall type and delete the sweep from the new wall type, then replace the new wall type where you want to omit the sweeps (use the properties palette to change the wall type rather than deleting the old wall and placing a new wall element): that would be my approach.
