Horizontal mullions overlapping l-shaped corner mulllion

I created a custom Curtainwall profile to replicate closer to a real-life design and we have this issue when using an L-shaped corner mullion that on one side the horizontal mullion overlaps or extends into the corner mullion unlike the other side.  And when I use the # it only extends it further into the corner.  Is there any way to fix this?

Seems to me that the problem is not in the vertical mullion but in the corner mullion family, which you don't show. For the corner, did you use the L shape corner mullion that comes with the architectural template, or a custom one? If the corner is custom, it usually requires two families, one for the left and one for the right. If it's not custom, use the default L shape corner, or a variation of it.

This occurs with the Default L-Shaped Corner Mullion.

I made a quick test, and I see that the L-shaped corner profile that comes with the template works as expected.

Are you sure that your custom profile mullion is correct? Panels are cut off at the point where the edges of the profile intersect the horizontal reference plane in the family, which is usually at center of glass. Yours looks different.

Here is a copy of the profile for the Mullion.  I wanted the Curtain Wall panels to imbed into the mullion as it would in real life and followed instruction online that mentioned to offset the "Cap" of the profile 1/256" from the Center Front/Back Reference plane.

I don't understand the reason for that advice that you got from Youtube. For panels and mullions to display correctly in plan an elevation, the center of pocket in the mullion should match the front/back reference plane, so that the panels are centered in the pocket without changing other settings. Otherwise you have to change the offset of panels in the project 2021-07-19_12-51-02.jpg2021-07-19_12-51-02.jpgtimes until it fits. In your mullion, the profile intersects the front/back plane at point 1 in this image. It should be point 2.

Not quite sure what the issue is here.  Your Mullion Profile works fine, albeit you'll need a profile that is grooved on only one side for the border Mullions.  Other than that, the L Corner Mullion and Toggle Mullion Joins seem to work fine and dandy.

That looks like a square mullion not the L-shaped mullion.

I see what you're saying.  I can't recall exactly where I read the 1/256" note as it was a few years back.  So the mullion "pockets" should be centered on the Front/Back reference plane then?

Edit: I found the original post http://curtainwallbim.blogspot.com/2013/02/custom-profiles.html not sure why they suggest having it 1/256" past the center line.

It's an L Corner Mullion. Trust me. There's only one. You know you can size 'em by changing the "Thickness" parameter; right?  It's like magic.  😉

The Center Front/Back reference plane must be inside the pocket.  Set it to the center of the pocket if you want to keep the location line of the curtain wall and the centerline of the panels to be the same.  The reason they set it to 1/256" from the edge of the pocket is that some curtain wall designers prefer the location line of their curtain wall at the exterior face of the panels.

Since you want details that are more faithful to real conditions, the glass should be in the pocket in your plan views. You don't have to re-do your mullion families. Just find an offset value for your panels that puts the panels in the pockets.

As a reference, these are images of a curtain wall mullion family made by someone who worked more than 25 years on curtain wall detailing, with some 8 of those years using Revit. My friend Dave Jones.

Notice that the panels will be cut off at the face of the pocket, where the edge of the mullion intersects the front/back reference plane.

Also, the Kawneer mullion families are made in the same way.

I do know that they can be resized, in your original image I couldn't see the legs on either side.
