Hide floor finish layer

Hi,

We are trying to hide the finish layer on the floors for the construction plan. We just need the core boundary from the assembly. And how to show the level to the core boundary.

Thanks 😉

Use two different floors...that way you can filter out the finish floor on plans where it is not needed.

We thought about that. however, If we are creating this information from the floor assembly don't you think there should be a better way?

Since the top of structure would be the floor level and finishes differ (carpet, tile, etc) yes, two different floors work best.

Two different floors, with the finish one offset up from the Level in an amount equal to its own thickness.

Go to visibility and graphics >  Floors > Floor patterns > Hide pattern visibility.

Have you tried using parts? It splits the layers and you can hide whichever you want after splitting them, also you can display it as parts or as floors depending on the view.

Select the floor and then Modify > Create > Create Parts
BE CAREFUL: you have might have to adjust your view depth to see a bit deeper after this
Select your parts > Divide Parts and sketch the part you want to show differently
Then Use Exclude Parts to get rid of a layer in that specific sketched area

Go to your view properties > Parts visibility > select how you want to show it in the specific view later

I have attached a file for you to be able to examine this further, this should be pretty easy 🙂

In other cases you might just get away by adjusting your cut plane in view range (View Properties > Extents > View Range) to suit your needs. The attached image might be a good option
