Hidden CAD file in Linked Structural Model

So we have been sent a Revit structural model that contains a linked CAD file which is set as an attachment instead of overlay. The CAD file is only visible when reveal hidden elements is turned on. This applies to all types of views (plans / 3D etc) and obviously when you select the link the Unhide Element is greyed out. When you look through the Visibility Graphics > Revit Links > Display Settings > Imported Categories, the CAD file does not exist.

I have adjusted the view range to incorporate the CAD file to no avail. It's also not a workset / phasing / design option issue because the CAD files is not associated with any.

I just want to be able to make the CAD file visible in a view in our model.

Anyone any ideas?

@AGreenhalgh

It has to be set as an Attachment otherwise the 2nd Layer nesting would not show in your model

Did you try to Go to Visibility Graphics >> Revit Links >> Set the Display settings to By Link

The CAD file may be linked in an in place mass. In such case, you need to turn on Mass category and set Mass to display by View settings.
