hey folks,

anyone who can tell me the easiest way to set colors to my model? I have read some tutorials but it seems to me it's more complex than I initially thought. Would appreciate if I could get some insight into this!

Select the walls, go to the properties bar on the left, select edit materials, find material you want the wall to be, import that material (if you don’t have it already), verify you have applied the materials.

Art Lopez Another way for fast visualization is to use the PAINT tool to apply materials to generic surfaces. It all depends on what the desired outcome is for. If you want to schedule the materials and color in a final set of drawings, make sure you have the proper assemblies built with the proper materials applied.

Add materials to each element

Brian W. Penschow Aia where do I find the paint tool? I’ve known how to edit materials, but this is new to me

Hey Shahin I second what Art is saying! Also for Walls they are “assemblies” so you need to hit “Edit Type” in the Properties, scroll down to find “Structure” and there you’ll see the materials and thicknesses that compose the wall. There is a column for material that follows what Art describes. Simplest way is Paint tool as recommended for small projects and 1-time visualizations. Otherwise you’ll save headaches but assigning the outer most layers of the wall assembly to the finish material you want. Don’t worry about the inside layers as much if you just want to visualize your design. And yes, and simple wall type could have just 1 layer if you want!
Revit is designed to bring projects full term in construction which is why is has all this detail embedded for the actual coordination of buildings. Good luck!

Hey Guy and Gals; I've got an unrelated question. What's this "FacebookGroupMember" handle you all have?  How does that work?

Also, do you folks have a secret handshake as well?  :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:
