HELP! Rotated elevation tags

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can help me out with a quirky issue i'm having with eleation tags in a project. As you can see from the attached image, the text inside the callout is rotating along with the angle of the elevation. Any ideas? for whate it's worth, the plan view this tag is in was creating by placing a callout in a working view oriented to true north, and then rotated to get a 90 degree orientation. I have a feeling this may be at the heart of the issue.

Hopefully that made sense, please let me know if you have any thoughts.

Thanks!

Jac

PS, the sheet naming, as evidenced by the tag in the image, is another painful discussion I've been having with the project lead. If anyone has a tip for how to get the tag to only show the last 4 digits, I'd be in their debt.

Sadly not for elevation markers. Just tags and some improvements to section heads.

Sadly I can't because it was created for a client, but the steps for how to are pretty simple. It only take 10-15 minutes to create one at 45 degree increments.

I've been spending way too much time working on this same problem. I came very close to the ideal, the last hurdle was getting the line between the Detail number and Sheet number to stay horizontal. After I read that it cannot be done, I resigned to letting the Ref numbers of the detail rotate with the elevation tag.

The trick to simplicity was making a multi-line Label with the Detail Number on Top and the Sheet Number below. If you uncheck 'Fixed Rotation' it behaves as desired by rotating about the center point of the Label.

You can create a horizontal line that behaves the same as the text by using underscores, hyphens, em-dashes, in a font that joins them, adjust the font size to set the length and thickness, and make sure it is not opaque so that it won't cover the numbers.

That worked! ...got exactly what I wanted. the text floats a bit as I spin the marker but it's so small it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the tip!

I like that it doesn't require multiple pointer types and text stays in the same orientation regardless of the direction.

Having this problem in Revit 2023. We rotated the whole project 90 degrees (in the model, not just on sheets), and now all the elevation heads are split with a vertical line instead of a horizontal line, just like @thurst 's post.
