Help recovering back-up file

Hi,

we are having trouble recovering a corrupt file.

My colleague and I were working in our local copies from a central file.  An error message appeared on his machine to say the file is corrupted and needs to be manually recovered, in the meantime my file was working fine and saving without problem.  I then closed my file and now we are both unable to open the central or local copies, with the error message 'corrupt file, recover manually'

We have been through the steps on the Revit helpdesk regarding recovery from backup files and all have failed, when we do a save-as of an earlier backup file, the error message is still the same saying the file is corrupted.

are there any other options to recover the files?

Thanks

Hey guys,

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Can you not re-access your Central file, open it directly, and then create a new local file from there? I have had issues where my local copy gives me that message, but I've just re-opened the Central, resaved as a local, and all was fine.

If your Central Model is corrupt, then thats a bit bigger of an issue, and is out of my pay-grade ahah
