HELP! Autodesk Revit Arch 2016 Essentials Textbook

I am reading Autodesk Revit Architecture 2016 Essentials: Autodesk Official Press. I was working on Exercise 3.12. Step 1 asks to Load Family on the Load From Library Panel. Step two reads "Browse to and open the Lighting\Architectural\Internal folder and double-click the family Ceiling Light-Linear Box.rfa". However, I cannot find where I can download the sample families. The ones currently available on the autodesk website are not the ones associated with this textbook. Currently I have the project files for the book, but I cannot find the family files associated with this book. Where can I find the family files associated with this edition of the textbook to download?

A lot has changed since 2016. Just saying that you are not learning about newer features. Some workflows have also changed significantly and instructions from 2016 may not apply to newer versions.

Revit doesn't change that much every year that you need to buy new books every year.... but if you spend time learning in 2024, get new books that are based on R2024 (newer UI) or later and learn with the new version. It is the same effort to learn a new software like learning an old one.

The differences from '16 to '24 are significant enough to make it hard for newcomers. That's eight years of new features and changes. The book is out of date. Let's not forget that '25 is out. That's 9 years.

I meant you don't need to buy the 2018 book for R2018 if you already have the 2016 book. The books don't really get updated from year to year, they basically just do a quick "replace 2016 with 2018". Maybe every few years they add a new feature Revit introduced if those were general features even a beginner uses. 

R2024 actually forced them to re-do the books (at least re-do the screenshots) since it looked different. My advice for any beginner today is, use R2024 or R2025 and start with the new books. 

But really, the 2 books I linked (and a few more about Dynamo and Revit projects) are ALL one ever needs from a book. The rest is all online and on this forum. 

I noticed some laggards that don't want to learn Revit will stick to AutoCAD and use an "outdated" book as an excuse why it it is impossible to learn Revit. Because you know, Revit 2020 was so revolutionary that it was impossible to use a 2018 book and sticking with AutoCAD was the only sensible option /s
