Health Facility Standards Revit Models, Families

Hi Guys,

I'm part of a team designing a health facility for an international client, we are looking for some sort of guide or a good starting point for Revit / AutoCAD content and a explanation of the dos-and-donts.

We have generally got a decent amount of BIM experience and Revit know-how BUT this will be one of the first health care facility projects we are undertaking as an organisation. Looking for good resources and deep knowledge on the subject of Standards Compliant Health Facility Design and accompanying Revit Content please.

Thanks for your help guys - long time Revit Forum lurker - this is my first post soo v excited.

Sally.

The International Health Facility Guidelines (iHFG) is a great resource for health facility standards and guidelines.

http://healthdesign.com.au/ihfg/Guidelines/Index/iHFG

The website contains free: room layout sheets, room data sheets, Revit content, AutoCAD content and allot more in the "Standard Components" section:

http://healthdesign.com.au/ihfg/StdComps/All/AtoE/iHFG

There is allot of information on overall health facility design broken into a series of parts, these guidelines cover topics like:

The guidelines themselves are used by many countries, sometimes they customise them, and comply with a whole series of international design standards.

I have used the Health Facility Briefing system (HFBS) as a tool to assist with design of health facilities in the past.

https://hfbs.healthdesign.com.au/app/index.html

And info on HFBS is available at:

http://hfbsinfo.com

This is used in conjunction with the international health facility guidelines, it has a plugin for Revit that allows you to brief a health facility that complies with the iHFG guidelines and then link the brief to your Revit design. The iHFG Revit content (models, and families) have shared parameters that accept the various metadata attributes needed from the brief.

There is also a thing they seem to be doing with the Revit Family content here: http://healthdesign.com.au/RevitMarket/ its got a large number of health facility Revit Family Files (RFA for health facility design) like x-rays, health facility beds, Anaesthetic machine, MRI machines, ect..

Cheers,

Greg.

Yeah ok thanks guys, the international health facility guidelines and HFBS software is allot of information to digest already.

I think I will check out the iHFG first and see where it takes me from there; that software seems interesting but I want to try to understand the intricacies of health facility design first.

I might actually share this with my team and see what we can get out of it. Allot of work ahead and might need some more help later on.
