Handrail LED Stripe

Hello

Is there a better way to create a handrail with an LED stripe underneath like this?

One way that I found is to have the LED stripe as an additional handrail with an emmisive material Of course  I could also change the toprail profile to have like a gap for the LED

Is there a better way that involves a Rail family?

You could create a thin LED strip light fixture family and face-place it on the underside of the regular rail.

that way the ies file and the lighting power density calculations still can work (if you need that).

A lot of the options depend on the functionality you require. Is the rail manufacturer providing the LED? Maybe they have families.

I would use the same approach that you are using.
