Have you tried using scope boxes?

You can use a scope box to constrain the graphical extents of levels and grids as well as for cropping views

All  Grid Lines or some of them?

When you say Grids do you mean both:

  1. Gridlines inside the Crop Region extending to the outside AND/
  2. Gridlines outside the Crop Region Extending to the inside

As no image is attached; I am guessing that the reason why they are visible outside the Crop region is that they might be or are inside the Annotation Crop region. To double check ...

1. Under Pproperties dialog > Scroll to Extents (annotation objects are cropped by their own box if "Annotation Crop" is checked)

2. Check "Crop Region" to be Visible

3. Hover mouse over the model untill you see the annotation crop box (the dotted line)

4. Drag to adjusted with the cropregion box.

Do not uncheck the annotation crop! It has to be checked so that you can slide the annotation crop and bring it closer to the region crop!

Are your grids showing 2D or 3D sign at the offending ends? And are they in main model or in a Linked File?!

If nothing is working I think they r 2D...When the grid is set to "2D", its extents are overridden in that view only. In other words; Revit consider that if you set these extents for that particular view (making it "2D"), then is what you wanted to see (ie: have done it purposely). This is most probably the reason why your grids are not snaping to the Crop Reigon. You can fix it by first selecting the offending grids and "Reset to 3d extents".

There is a possibility that the option "Reset to 3D extent" is greyed out (not accessible) then you must have moved the extent grip or attached them toanother instance or element (can be  for example the scope box or another grid line or reference plane). In this case you will have to reset the 2D extents manually to match the 3D extents again.  You can do this by:

1. Dragging the 2D grip over to and dropping it on the 3D extents (the hollow circle to the left of your grid bubble).  When dropped right on top of the 3D extents, it should toggle back to 3D mode. Only then you can edit the 3D extents; then reset the grids to Crop View and then propagate extents to all other views

2. if you can identify to what these grids are toggled...you may unpin/untoggle it first the try to reset 3D extents

3. Try click and drag the Crop Box all the way out. The grids will stretch out with it till at a certain point the toggle back to 3D extent...if this works; select all and reset to crop; readjust the crop region till all align; then lock/pin them all...then you may adjust the crop view as you desire

This is how it is designed/supposed to work. The crop view scope boxes are designed to crop the model within the area. The grids and grid bubble will be kept outside these areas as they otherwise would possibly be on top of the model (undesired).

Hereunder screenshot. A would happen (now manually placed) if grid would stay inside the crop area.

1 is as it will be done automatically

Yes the scope box/crop view controls the extents of the grid/grid bubble beyond the scope box/crop view. If you are not happy with the result you will have to change them manually. There is (at the moment?) also no variable to control the extents beyond the scope box/crop area.

You could consider to fill out THIS FORM on the Autodesk website and request what you would like to change.

Describe your problem/solution as clearly as possible

🙂 There is a solution if this is how you want it to behave...Its just that the Crop View option was provided to restrict all your annotations and in this case (Grid Bubbles) restricted to the Annotation Crop this is why its there for (name speaks for itself). As @L.Maas said if you drag them to the indise they will/might congest the Model with unnecessary annotations.

If you want to override that behavior, you can do so ideally BEFORE hand when you first started placing your Grids.

When the grids are already there and were already edited modified shifted...there is no such thing as "Automatically rectify Grids to my Desire"...First you need to tell Revit what to do and to do that you need to do a little bit of manual handwork in order to at least set a benchmark on one view then propagate it to the other views (Propagate works automatically). The manual work is unfortunately required because the 3d Extents toggle (the blue round icon) of your grids are outside the crop region and offcentered from the 2D grip on the grid. You need to

1. aligne the toggel on top of the 2D grip

2. lock your grids remove

3. the Crop View Check

4. Drag 1 grid to where u want it to be (the other grids move automatical with it)

5. Right click the grids (all) > Reset 3D extents

6. While grids still selected > On the Modify|Grid Tab Click Propagate Extents

And you will have them all set on all the views you select
