Grid annotation 2d to 3d

How do we change an annotation(in this case it's a grid) showing 2D to 3D?

Help appreciated.

If the view is not cropped, or the grid's 3d extent is inside the view crop, then you can click on the 2d/3d label to switch.  If the view is cropped and the grid's 3d extent is out side of the view crop, then you cannot.

Change the Grid "Annotation"?   Do you mean the Grid Head?  The "2D" and the '3D" are not Annotations.
