graphic pattern showing on wrong side of wall??

So I am working in a model where I just now applied a horizontal pattern to the exterior wall surface.  the pattern shows up nicely on the exterior... BUT.. it's also showing on the interior.

the material of my wall have siding on the exterior with sheetrock on the interior..i have no graphic pattern set for the interior foreground, only for the exterior.

The horizontal lines will go away if i turn the graphic pattern off for the siding...

Why are the lines showing through the wall to the interior??  

I was also going to ask if that was normal, but decided not to.

I have decided to answer it anyway to your retracted question: No it is not normal.

Are the pattern showing through when you zoom out very far or at any given zoom level?

Perfect.... apparently I had several interior walls, not all of them where one side had siding instead of drywall... that was weird...
