Getting Curtain Wall Panel Door Hardware to Read in Schedule

I am having a hard time with a curtain wall panel family that is a door. All of our regular door families have a parameter (Common, Text, Identity Data) called HARDWARE. The curtain wall panel does not. If I add a DOOR HARDWARE parameter to the CWP door, the schedule in the host model does not read the value. I would appreciate any help from the real Revit gurus out there!

It has to be the same Shared parameter used in other families.  If you don't know where the source shared parameter is, open another door family, select the HARDWARE parameter and Export it to a shared parameter text file, then load that parameter to the curtain wall door family.

...Plan B, should you not want to go with the Shared Parameter, would be to use another available Parameter Field and rename it in the Schedule to "HARDWARE".  Input all your hardware info for the doors under that column.

Have you tried changing the family category type from "curtain panel" to "door". That should allow it to pick up any shared parameters that are linked to door families.

Well, the user who encountered the problem figured it out. He decided to go with deleting the parameter from the project and making it a shared parameter instead as an instance parameter. I had not wanted to do that because that would mean re-entering all those hardware numbers. Not the best news but it go the job done.
