Hi Folks,

Is it possible to get parameters from an IFC Link in a Revit Schedule?

Thanks!

For parameters to be available for a schedule they have to be System, Project or Shared Parameters. This is not applicable to IFC files. Looking at the schedules I see that only IfcGuid is exposed.

I do not see a (simple) way to accomplish this

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

I have tried to get the IfcGUID in my schedule, I can add it as a field but no value is provided, if it is available as a field I believe we could have the value tabulated but how to do that?

Did you include Elements in Links for the schedule?

Yes I did include the element link in the schedule and I still have an empty field for the IfcGUID.

Make sure it's a raw schedule without any sorting/grouping at first.

I have just tried to export to IFC to see if it changes anything and it had. After exporting to IFC my IfcGUID field in my wall schedule has been filled but what I don't understand is that not all my walls in my wall schedule have an IfcGUID.

The IfcGUID values you see in the schedule belong to the native Revit walls, not the IFC link's walls.  I believe you have set to Store the IFC GUID in Revit after export.  Below I highlighted a Revit wall and it has the IfcGUID value as an example.

Still, it's strange that you don't see the value for the IFC link.

If you TAB select an IFC Wall, do you see its IfcGUID in the properties?

Yes I do see in the wall properties the IFGUID value, but it is the only IFC parameters displayed.

On your print screen you have much more IFC parameters, how did you get those displayed?

Because I select a wall from the IFC link. You screenshot show a native Revit wall, not IFC wall, so you only have the IfcGUID field.

Hi

So linking an IFC or Opening it in Revit is where the difference resides?

Thanks
