Generic Wall Can't be Modified?

Hello. I'm having an issue with my revit trying to modify for example the generic exterior wall 300mm to add a thermal layer and then a panel layer on the exterior, by changing Edit Types - Structure - Insert those two structures, it does show up correctly in the Preview but somehow once clicked ok (twice) to go back to 3D view or floor plan, none of the changes show up on the wall. It seems only the wall thickness is changed a bit, but no extra lines (for the additionally created layers) shown with Extra Lines on.

Is it something with my Graphic Visibility or Instant Properties maybe that some view is disabled? Thanks in advance.

  1.  Switch View's Detail level to either Medium or Fine
  2. To see the layers in 3D you will need a section box that cuts the walls

@Anonymous In addition to #1 above, the views Detail Level might also be related to a category-specific override in Visibility Graphics (possibly within a view template), for instance forcing walls to show course scale fill pattern overrides... however more likely it is just the overall Detail Level setting though as mentioned, but if that doesn't do the trick you could look at these settings... And then for #3, also check what happens if you change phasing/phase filter overrides, could be related to that aswell...

Thank you @RDAOU

Yes, it was the Detail Level - strange that I thought I had tried changing that to Fine last night but it didn't respond either, maybe I should've turned off and back on to try this approach again. But now it's working. Thanks very much for your help!

Thank you @Martijn.Pater for your help too! I also checked VG overrides that there had been none, which is good, I'll keep these in mind to check these in case some settings are embedded, it'd be good to make sure all is correct. Appreciated.
