Generic models from ifc - fill pattern

super strange case.... so I cannot figure out how to add colour to linked generic models. even if I try to copy them in from the ifc... it does not work. works for any other generic model that I have created, ut not for the ones from the ifc link.
to make it even more annoying. I can see the colour in 3D if I link per view, but not 2D and 3D not linking per view. ....
anyone encountered this and has a better solution then 2d hatches?....... (this cannot possibly be a 2020 solution......)

I got as far as thinking that the problem lies in here.... Revit differentiates the "generic models" from " ifc generic models"....
but I cannot change the category even if I open the ifc in revit....

I don't think these are generic models.

Select one of them by hovering over its edge and click tab till it's highlighted and select it to know it's family and category.

In addition, did you tried selecting one of them and over ride graphics in view by element?

Also check if the revit link visibility is set to follow the host visibilty. from VV go to Revit links and check the visibilty graphics of the link.

yes I did that before....

they are very much translated as generic models from an ifc.

also I tried re-writing graphics in the view and it behaves in the same way as I said - I can only re-write in 3D, in the plans it nly re-writes edges...

I even tried to open the link and re-white in the link itself, which does not work either...
