Hi all,
I am trying to move/align material pattern in a generic model without success.
Any idea?

it looks like you are trying to align the pattern of 2 different objects that are offset from each other.

try doing it in an elevation view.

also.... use the align tool (AL), it works really well for aligning patterns.

Can you nudge it using your arrow keys?

My idea was to show you that same material acts differently depends on family type.

In wall family it works properly. In generic model not.

If I try to nudge the pattern the whole element shifts

Say what?  Is it not a Model Pattern? If it is, you should be able to select a line in the pattern and nudge it?

No. It is a model pattern, I can select the line. If try to move the pattern it will move the whole element instead.

Try yourself:

>Create a Generic Model family >assign a material with a related model pattern > try to allign/move the pattern.

Let me know.

this is because the pattern on a wall is part of the wall structure. Model-in-place works differently. you first  have to Edit the in place model , then you can adjust the pattern.

Unfortunatelly it is not a model in place but a Generic Model family.

I use it to diplay ceramic tiles

Same issue. if the pattern is in the family you wont be able to adjust it like a wall. like a In Place model, it is "In" the family so you would have to edit the family to adjust it.
