Hi,

I'm TRYING to make a roof parametric and keep running into random issue and errors making certain components of the drawing not work.

Can someone that has some experience with Revit explain to me why this drawing is so fragile and how i can avoid this.

Thanks in advance

Jack

I am not completely clear on exactly what this family is or what it is supposed to do?  There is a roof tool in Revit so I am not sure how this family is related to a roof element. Can you elaborate on what you are trying to do.

@Anonymous: I'm lost as well. This family is just a bunch of detail lines. What are you trying to do with it exactly?

The angles and the dimensions flex. Again, what is this for and what problems are you running into?

To be usable in a Revit project, families need to have 3D geometry, unless they are Detail Component families. What are you developing this family for?

You need to limit the angle between a certain range because it will cause the kind of errors like below.  Why not draw it as a roof + fascia + soffit and use detail components on top of the detail view?
